CO-OPERAS

CO-OPERAS is the OPERAS component addressing the FAIR principles application challenges in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities.

CO-OPERAS is an Implementation Network within the GoFAIR initiative, and a project funded by the French Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR) until 2022.

Within OPERAS, CO-OPERAS works closely with the Special Interest Group on Common standards.

Why CO-OPERAS?

CO-OPERAS’ aims to help the social sciences and humanities (SSH) communities making their data and publications Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR). This FAIRification process is essential to build a bridge between SSH data and the EOSC, widening the concept of “research data” to include all of the types of digital research output linked to scholarly communication that are part of the research process.

CO-OPERAS purpose

CO-OPERAS intends to contribute to the SSH FAIRification by changing the communication culture in SSH, sharing standards and practices, and leveraging existing services and infrastructures, on one hand. On the other hand, the CO-OPERAS network will contribute to the FAIR implementation methods by bringing the specific experience and use cases of the SSH communities.

CO-OPERAS approach is based on:

  • listening to the community needs
  • building services or tools according to what the community asked for
  • test with the community
